Christmas. It’s coming, whether you are ready to think about it or not. It is a short 9 months away. I know it is only March and we haven’t even had Easter yet. But when Christmas comes to Disneyland, you should always be ready. Why? Because Christmas at Disneyland is amazing! I highly recommend going during this season.
When is the Christmas season in the Happiest Place on Earth? It starts early November usually…right around Veteran’s Day. Last year (2016) it began November 10th. I was there November 11th. And wow! I mean WOW! It snowed, it lit up, and there are light shows and amazing fireworks.
Most of the decorations are done overnight. Can you imagine that process? Holy moly! That has to be some transformation.
But some of the decorations and transformations take weeks to assemble. Some iconic rides shut down for a chunk of time just to get ready. Rides like the Jungle Cruise, which becomes the JINGLE Cruise, are hilarious and festive; and take the most time to transform. The animals get all dressed up for the occasion.
The Haunted Mansion gets a complete make-over and take-over. Jack Skellintgton and crew hi-jack the Mansion for a Halloween meets Christmas celebration. And the character Jack and Sally come out to talk to you….
Small World gets a fancy light show on the outside of the building that will simply take your breath away. Main Street gets a complete make-over with lights and garlands.
Characters get festive outfits and Santa comes to Disneyland!
And it snows! EVERYDAY!
Not to mention the parades and shows that only Disney can do!
There are special snacks and ears to buy…
