January 8th brought a lot of closure inside Disneyland Resort. Paradise Pier shut down to undergo a major overhaul. It will emerge this spring as PIXAR Pier! Get the skinny on that HERE!
But a couple of the lesser known updates taking place are on Main Street USA and the beloved Dumbo ride. These two staple attractions are being closed off for refurbishments.
Main Street U.S.A.
The horse-drawn street car track…the one we all trip on…is being removed! The road is being re-done with a new pattern of bricks that is appropriate with the ‘era’ of Main Street U.S.A.
The amazing flying elephant ride, Dumbo, is a piece of Disney history. It is iconic and beloved the world over. It will close temporarily to up date the quality of its queue. It will now offer some shade for all its people who stand in line to ride this original attraction. It will also be getting a fresh coat of paint.
Both attractions are tentatively scheduled to re-open late winter and/or early spring. The actual dates have not been released at the time of this posting.
