I went to see the new Pirates movie this weekend. Disney’s Pirates of the Caribbean ‘Dead Men Tell No Tales’ opened this weekend. And it opened with a gusto! I recommend that you go see it too! If you haven’t already that is!
But if you haven’t…here is my biggest piece of advise: STAY THROUGH THE ENTIRE CREDIT SEQUENCE! There are 2, YES 2(!), tidbits after the movie ends!
And all of our favorite characters were there. Jack Sparrow, Will Turner, Elizabeth, Barbarossa, and more! Really, this was a GOOD movie!
I asked people in the theater what their thoughts were. Many said that the quality and excitement of the first Pirates of the Carribean movies was back! We get to meet Will’s and Elizabeth’s son, Henry. And then they are more characters to get to know also. The story line was top notch and character development was great too! There are some SUPER surprising twists that I don’t feel like I should talk about this early in the game.
The CGI was simply amazing! The ‘bad guys’ in this installment of Pirates of the Carribean were cursed Spanish soldiers. And as they walk upon the ship, they ‘floated’. I don’t know how to explain it…they looked like they were still under water.
We even get to see a bit of Jack’s history. He is still handsome when he’s young. But he isn’t quite so cocky or wobbly. Really, it was an interesting and important part of the entire story.
I really enjoyed this movie. But would I take my young children? Yes. I do believe I would. Yes, there were scary parts. There were intense parts. But I don’t think it would be too much for little ones…especially if they’ve seen the previous movies.
Will there be more? Well, there had better be! There are a few loose ends I’d like tied up. Will and Elizabeth….well, spoilers! Go See The Movie!
