As of November 8th, Dole Whip is available OUTSIDE of the Disneyland Park! And since it is outside the park itself, you can get a splash of rum with it! This is HUGE news! Dole Whip is practically in a food category all it’s own… it is so delicious!
When in the park you can only get it at the Tiki Room kiosk, which is presented by Dole. The Coffee House, located right outside the Disneyland Hotel, in the center of their towers now offers Dole Whip. And NOW you have the option of adding rum! Dark rum or coconut rum.
And you know what I (Cassie) think is hilarious about Dole Whip with rum? Well, it’s brand new…and the first day they began offering this was Tuesday, November 8th, 2016. Do you know what day this was? Let me fill you in – Election Day 2016. Yeah – I know what you are thinking…I thought it too. 🙂 Good going Disney! LOL
I celebrated my 41st birthday at Disneyland last weekend, my husband’s 43rd. And yes, we were carded. So be prepared.
We ordered the Dole Whip with a Splash of Coconut Rum. O.M.Goodness! Sunshine in a cup! We had the regular Whip and boy, did it bring back memories. What an amazingly yummy treat! Tangy and sweet pineapple with just a hint of coconut rum for an after taste. Holy smokes! I shared one with my husband and it was so pretty and so delicious! So refreshing too! Look at the colors! And it came with a little paper umbrella…the true sign of a good drink (lol!).
Since my husband is a vegan and I have a lactose issue….we could still enjoy Dole Whip (with rum of course) and so we ordered the sorbet version that is dairy-free. It was pretty much the exact same as the real version, without a tummy ache. 🙂 We had a splash of coconut rum, which was delicious, although it wasn’t very strong, so if you want more of a rum aftertaste – indulge on the dark rum.
What’s even cooler about this new announcement – well, not only is is now available with rum, but if you didn’t catch what we were saying above…you don’t have to have a park ticket or enter a park to now get a taste of a classic Disney treat.
And note, the Dole Whip inside of Disneyland park does not have a rum option and will not have a rum option as Disneyland itself is alcohol-free.
And, once you grab your Dole Whip, head over to the section of the Disneyland hotel grounds on the opposite side of the CoffeeHouse (don’t worry, it’s not far) and find the Tangaroa Terrace.
On one side of this tropical cafe – you will find the Trader Sam’s sign:
And right across from this sign, you will find an awesome, tropically lounge area with outdoor seating and firepit – day or night -it’s an awesome spot to enjoy your Dole Whip.
Bonus: Do you know the Trader Sam’s reference?
Back to The Coffee House: they have other things as well, because, well, it’s The Coffee House. The smells inside this little shop were out of this world.
This has to be a MUST STOP when you go to Disneyland! Really, if you are just wandering around Downtown Disney, stop here and get this amazing treat! You will be glad you did.
Oh! And try the coconut rum!
