Sometimes even Mickey needs a morning pick me up. Or that afternoon cup of Joe.
I know that when my family goes to Disneyland, no one sleeps the night before that first day. And by the afternoon, the adrenaline is kaput!
Seriously, give me coffee, or give me death! Venti! Frappaccino! Mocha! Latte! Americano!
I love it all!
But where does one find a good cup of coffee when in the California Disney Resort parks? WHERE!!!!????
No worries! Help is here!
Before hitting Cars Land or standing in line for the new Frozen show, make sure you stop for the essentials! Cold or hot, make sure you get what you need!
STARBUCKS! Located on Buena Vista Street inside the Fiddler, Fifer & Practical Cafe. As you walk into the park it is on the right, around a little bend in the road. Very close to the fountain. (C) There are also smoothies, tea, and other refreshments. And don’t forget the Mickey Cookies! You can also use Starbucks gift cards and earn (but not redeem) ‘stars’ in this coffee house. Click HERE for their menu!
However, if you don’t particularly like Starbucks or don’t want to stand in the inevitable line, there is another option. An often over looked option. The Gourmet Coffee Cart!
At the top of the bridge, where Paradise Pier meets Pacific Wharf meets the Grizzly Peak area there are a handful of food carts. And one of them is a COFFEE CART! Often, the line here is MUCH shorter than at Starbucks.
The last time I visited California Adventure with Mouse-ke-Cassie, we hit this cart up. TWICE! It was super yummy! But since the coffee hadn’t kicked in yet, I didn’t think to get a picture. It had a green striped canopy on top. (Hope that helps.)
Schmoozies is also a possibility. Located in Hollywood Land (G). Right up toward the big mural of the beautiful blue sky and right across from the Animation Academy.
Can you say coffee smoothies? I can…. Here you can get fruit smoothies and coffee drinks. Coffee ranges from $2.79 to $4.79. Just thinking about the Malibu Mocha Frappe makes my mouth water! You can even get a souvenir mug for $6.29.
There is nothing like the ambiance of Main Street U.S.A. in side Disneyland. It is welcoming and lovely. I love it in the mornings with a cup of coffee in my hand. It DE-stresses me and makes me smile.
There are some really good options for a morning cup of inspiration in the park.
Market House– Be careful, you’ll walk right past it. I’ve done it many times. It is a Starbucks so well imagineered, that you don’t even realize it is there. It is located on the right side of Main Street (D), just down from the locker rentals. Across the street from the Carnation Cafe (A). Here they have all the Espresso, Frappuccino, and tea that you could possibly desire. Cold or hot. And you can earn Starbucks Stars, but not redeem them. They also accept Starbucks gift cards. There is also a variety of Starbucks products and adorable mugs and cups available inside.
Famous for their mouse shaped macaroons, make sure to grab one of these beauties!
Jolly Holiday Cafe– This place is simply lovely. The atmosphere, the location; seriously wonderful. You could sit in a chair and watch practically the whole park walk by. Here is a restful place to get a cup of your favorite coffee. And while you’re there, thy a muffin. MELT IN YOUR MOUTH! They offer a nice amount of caffeinated beverages and if you need it, a spoonful of sugar.
They have a allergy friendly menu as well. Just ask any Cast Member to hook you up.
French Market Cafe: Mouse-ke-Cassie and I sat here in the morning sunshine. It was peaceful and delicious. The Dapper Dans sang melodies a few feet away and we enjoyed coffee in the heart of New Orleans Square. We even watched a gentleman propose to a lady right in front of us. Talk about ROMANTIC!
I partook of a caffe’ latte that was rich and smooth. I even indulged in some Mickey-shaped beignets. 3 yummies for less that $5! A super deal!
Mmmm-mmmmm good! Highly recommend! What an amazing start to what was an amazing day!
Along with coffee, there are always amazing mugs for sale in the parks or on-line. Here are a couple of MY favorites from Amazon.
Please check out this 60th Anniversary Starbucks Disneyland set…it comes with a $10 Starbucks gift card! Also included is 4 special mugs, all with the 60th Anniversary Celebration Logo.
Coffee is accessible in the Disneyland Resort. You just have to know where to find it. And NEVER be afraid to ask a Cast Member. Make sure to get a Mickey shaped snack to go along with any coffee, hot or cold. Because EVERYTHING tastes better when it is Mickey shaped.
So hold your mugs/travel cups/straw cups high! And drink up, me hearties, yo ho!
